Sarah Mondale (Director/Producer)

President and co-director of Stone Lantern Films, and formerly a public school teacher in New York. She directed and co-produced the award-winning PBS series SCHOOL (2001), PBS primetime films MARCEL PROUST, and ASYLUM which was nominated for an Emmy. She was Director, Producer and Writer of the narrative short film, OLD ACQUAINTANCES which aired on French TV3 and HBO-Cinemax. In 2010, she co-directed and co-produced the feature documentary MEGAMALL which has screened at festivals in the U.S. and abroad.

Vera Aronow (Producer/Editor)

Founded Turnstone Productions with her husband, cinematographer, Roger Grange in 1996. Her recent work includes co-directing, co-producing and editing the documentary feature, MEGAMALL (2010) about suburban development in the age of sprawl. She also served as researcher, associate producer or line producer on numerous documentaries for PBS broadcast, including JOSEPH CAMPBELL AND THE POWER OF MYTH with Bill Moyers and episodes of the AMERICAN MASTERS and GREAT PERFORMANCES series.

Backpack Full of Cash is a co-production between Stone Lantern Films and Turnstone Productions. Stone Lantern Films has a long track record of award-winning documentaries, including the PBS series SCHOOL: The Story of American Public Education, narrated by Meryl Streep which was seen by an estimated 6 million people. Turnstone Productions was founded by Vera Aronow and BACKPACK cinematographer, Roger Grange, both longtime collaborators with Stone Lantern.
